Buddhism is a non-theistic religion, meaning it does not believe in a personal creator god. Instead, Buddhism focuses on the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama, the historical Buddha, who attained enlightenment and taught others how to achieve liberation from suffering. While there are celestial beings and deities in Buddhist cosmology, they are not considered all-powerful or eternal gods, but rather beings subject to the cycle of birth and death like all other beings. Ultimately, the goal of Buddhism is to attain enlightenment and liberation from the cycle of samsara, rather than worshiping gods. **

In Buddhism, the concept of jealous gods, known as asuras, is interesting because it reflects the belief that even divine beings can experience negative emotions like jealousy. This serves as a reminder that all beings, regardless of their status or power, are subject to the cycle of suffering and impermanence. The presence of jealous gods in Buddhism also highlights the importance of cultivating positive qualities such as compassion, generosity, and wisdom to overcome negative emotions and attain spiritual liberation. **
